Flagright's import and export functionality allows you to migrate rules between environments, for example, from sandbox to production, without needing to recreate them manually.
Before you begin
Confirm the following before starting a migration:
The number of risk levels is the same in both the source and destination environments.
Steps
1. Export rules from the source environment
Go to Rules > My rules in the environment you are migrating from. Select the export 'JSON' icon icon in the top-right area of the rules table.
2. Select and download your rules
The Export rules modal will open, displaying all available rules. Select the rules you want to export and click Export. This will download a .txt file to your computer containing the rule configurations.
3. Import rules into the destination environment
Go to Rules > My rules in the destination environment. Select the import 'JSON' icon icon in the top-right area of the rules table.. The Upload rules option will appear, click or drag your downloaded .txt file into the upload area, then click OK. Allow a few minutes for the rule logic to fully process and update in the new environment.
5. Reconfigure list references
Lists similarly can be migrated via the Download and Import CSV icons below. Any migrated rules that reference lists as a variable will need to be reconfigured, as list IDs are environment-specific and will differ between environments.
6. Reconfigure case management SLAs
If you migrate a rule that has case management SLAs, you will need to create the same SLA in production and ensure the rules refer to the new SLA.
