Manual case creation - additional touchpoints

Additional ways to create a case on Flagright

Manual case creation originally worked only from the Users touchpoint. This update adds the remaining ways to start a manual case, from transactions, from alerts, from users with their transactions or alerts pulled in automatically, and with nothing attached at all.

Overview

A manual case is one you create yourself rather than one opened automatically by a rule. You can now start a manual case from several different starting points ("touchpoints"), and in each case Flagright pulls in the related users automatically so you don't have to add them by hand.

Where you can create a manual case

From transactions

Select one or more transactions, from the transactions list, a single transaction's page, or an alert's Transactions tab, then create or add to a manual case. The user(s) behind those transactions are pulled in automatically.

Transaction List View touch points:

Step 1: Pick transactions based on filters

Step 2a: Creation modal

Step 2b: Add to a case

Transaction Detail view touchpoints:

Step 1: Choose to either add to a case or create a new one

Step 2a: Add to a manual case

Step 2b: Create a manual case

From alerts

Select one or more alerts and create or add to a manual case. The user responsible for each alert is pulled in automatically, and the alert appears under the case's Alerts tab.

Step 1: Alerts list view

Step 2a: Add to a manual case

Step 2b: Create a manual case

From a user, with transactions or alerts included

When creating a case from a user, you can now also include that user's transactions or alerts automatically:

  • Turn on "include transactions," set a direction and date range, and every matching transaction is included automatically. You only need the picker if you want to exclude a few specific ones.

For transaction inclusion, a match of 1,000 transactions or fewer is linked immediately as part of the same action. A larger match runs as a background job, with a progress indicator, so performance stays reliable even for very large cases.

With no subject attached

From the Case management page, under All cases, choose "Create a Manual case" and create one with nothing attached. This is useful when you want to open a case first and add subjects later.

Good to know

  • Every case page uses a single actions menu (the ⋮ menu) containing all options, rather than separate menus.

  • The reason dropdown when creating a case matches your configured reasons under Settings > Disposition reasons > Case creation.

  • On a business user's case, entity tabs with a count of zero are greyed out and not clickable.
